Perfect for Ninja Thirsti 60L CO2 tank!!
After struggling with 2 other different types of CO2 bottle adapters, this is the one!! It works perfectly with my 60L Ninja Thirsti tank. I use a 20lb welding CO2 cylinder and not the syphon type. Simply screw this adapter on the large tank, pull the 60L out of the freezer (freezing overnight ensures a full fill) and screw it on. Then turn the whole setup upside down so the liquid CO2 will flow out of the valve. Turn the valve just until you hear the pressure start to equalize then after a couple minutes when all the sound stops, turn off the valve. Open the side pressure release screw until the tiny bit of gas escapes then unscrew the 60L tank and remove the adapter. All done.

Refill VERY Slowly to make it work
So this works well on the old blue style SodaStream CO2 canisters BUT when you open the CO2 valve to fill you have to crank it open 1 mm at a time VERY slowly until you hear the CO2 going into the bottle and then stop cuz it only refills if you go super super slowly and it takes a couple minutes for it to refill but you can hear it. If you open it even a little more it will stop due to the safety valve and then you'll have to start over by closing the tank valve and then releasing the adapter pressure and then tightening the adapter pressure knob and then once again open the CO2 canister super duper slowly like amazingly slow until you hear the flow. Also there is a brass filter in there that originally I thought was blocking the flow but it's just a filter. I poked it out with a screwdriver. You can pop it out or leave it in it's supposed to filter impurities from your CO2 sourceAlso I froze the canister overnight and I now have a full pound filling the CO2 canister. It's even more C02 than you get directly from SodaStreams canisters ðŸ¤

does not work
Completely useless, unfortunately. Supplied gaskets are too big and rigid to fit, so they had to be trimmed. Got everything tightened up, inverted my CO2 bottle, opened valve, nada. Turning the small knob on the side does nothing until it is open far enough to leak rapidly. Very disappointing - chucked it in my scrap metal pile for recycling.

Better working than previous adapter with gauge
I previously had purchased the longer adapter with a pressure gauge. It did not work as well as this. Probably because it is more direct. Able to fill quickly with without an issue.I have included a picture of the other adapter with gauge. Don’t buy this one. It only fills about 25%. Buy the shorter adapter, which is the one I’m writing the review for.

Works but complicated
It took me a while to get it to work even with tips from others. Here is what I did to get mostly full (95%?) bottles:1 tighten adapter on to supply tank to the point it doesn't leat from that side2. First put in freezer for a few hours and then screw on the sodastream CO2 bottle to hand tight and then back off so CO2 ca escape when supply tank is opened3. Open CO2 supply and then back off so the flow is very light but handle turning will not suddenly jump the pressure up4. Tighten on the sodastream tank all the way5. Open the main tank very slowly - should hear sodastream tank filling6. Leave for a few minutes and then shut valves and remove when filling sound is no longer evident6a. A brand new filled sodastream tank weighs 1150ish g and an empty one is 750ish7. A first fill gets me to 850-900 g. It took me three freeze/fill cycles to get to 1100+ g.8. For me the thrill of beating the systems makes it somewhat worth it. I got a 20 lb CO2 tank and it costs me 35 dollars to exchange locally for a full tank. My estimate is $2/bottle to fill. I have a local shop that will fill sodastream CO2 bottles for 5. I think of you have that locally and can get your hands on 3-4 empty soda stream CO2 bottles, it might be a better way to go.

That was easy!
I refilled my Drinkmate cylinder within 5 minutes of this arriving on my doorstep.Mine did have the integrated filter, unlike another reviewer's.I'd already had an empty 5lb CO2 tank from my home brewing days. I traded it for a full tank at my local gas supplier (Roberts Oxygen) for $35 (the price of a new, little Drinkmate canister)! All of their CO2 is food grade. My process:1. Weigh my empty canister (706g). Check my canister's capacity (410g). Target weight: 1116g.2. Freeze canister. (Or skip for a less complete fill.)3. Attach adapter hand-tight to 5lb tank.4. Screw empty canister to adapter.5. Invert the whole assembly (since my big tank is a normal one--not a siphon tube tank made for refilling).6. Slowly release big tank's valve. [However, I've read that the slow ramp up is unnecessary for Drinkmate and older (blue) Soda Stream canisters, which this adapter fits.]7. Wait for the hissing sound of transfer to stop (it only took around 10 seconds).8. Close the valve on the big tank.9. Unscrew filled canister from assembly.I weighed the filled canister at 1168g, which is a little past a complete fill (~105%). That's a result of preparing a fully chilled canister.Next time, I may skip the measurement since I landed close to the target. I can make a few drinks right away to purge the small overage.

Dead simple adapter for connecting Drinkmate cartridge to CO2 tank
This is a good-quality, heavy-duty adapter. You will need one like this to refill your own Sodastream cartridges, which you absolutely should do because the refill prices on them through exchanges or buying new ones are murder. I use the adapter to connect to this - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IE1DJ2I - 5 pound tank, and it works easily and properly. The threads are good, and the piece itself is of a heavy weight. I expect this to last forever, basically.I should say that the spare o-rings that came with it, at least mine, are absolute junk (hard plastic) that don't fit at all. I guess someone stuck the wrong thing in the package. It's easy enough to find replacements if you should ever need them, though.
