Compared to my regular hair oils, this is a little bit more troublesome to use.
Maybe the peppermint and rosemary in this is thicker than most, but I have a hard time trying to collect the substance with the dropper. It doesn't collect easily and forcing the oil out of the dropper is difficult since the dropper catches more air than the oil itself. This oil is less watery and more condensed so it's harder to collect. Even when I have enough to fill the dropper, it seems like the dropper has difficulty cooperating.I don't mind the smell but I can't say I've noticed a big difference since using this.

Hair treatment
This peppermint rosemary hair oil was much thicker than I was expecting, it is definitely not a typical oil texture. The smell wasn’t overwhelming, but it was noticeable. This is easy to apply to your scalp/hair thanks to the dropper that is included. You take the dropper and apply as many drops as needed to your scalp, massage it in, and let it sit for 5 minutes or overnight. You could also apply the oil to the ends of your hair if you are having problems with split ends(in that case leave the oil on your hair for 10 minutes). Either way you choose to use this oil, you will need to wash it out after however long you choose to leave it on because your hair will be greasy. It was much easier to shampoo out of my hair than I had anticipated, and did not leave a residue on my hair once it dried. My hair did feel good and stronger after the first use of this. I am hoping it does help to aid in hair growth, but that is something that will make much more time to notice, for now I am happy with how it made my hair feel. Happy to say, I did not have any skin irritation or issues from this oil.

thick and sticky serum, but seems to do the job
I have very sparse, thin hair, and I've been using various hair oils for a few years. They are not miracle products, or, at least I haven't found one yet, but they do keep my scalp moist, and I think, help with hair fall and breakage. As for this one, it calls itself a serum, and it is, in fact, much thicker than your usual hair 'oils.' This is good because it stays put and doesn't run all over your head and get on your clothes. I can put this in after dinner, don't even need to cover my head, and then shower as usual before bed. It has an awesome rosemary and peppermint scent, and you do feel it tingling on your scalp. And although these scents are supposed to be energizing, I find it calming when it's on my head. Like, my head muscles relax a bit. And they are always tense, so I really, really appreciate that.

Highly moisturizing serum
The First Botany peppermint, rosemary hair and scalp serum is a nice essential oil based product. It comes in a dark, amber, glass bottle with an eye dropper applicator. The scent is fresh and minty, but there is also a strong base note of ginger. It also contains rosemary and grapefruit oils, but I can't identify them individually. Since the carrier oil is castor oil, which can cause allergic reactions on some people, I would recommend testing this product in a small area before applying it liberally.I get patches of dry skin on my scalp, so I use this as a spot treatment in those areas right before bed. The serum is a bit sticky and oily. It coats the skin and stays put, so I wash it out in the morning. Since the one ounce bottle is small, I wouldn't want to use it on my whole scalp on a regular basis, but it is great for treating split ends and specific areas of skin.
