Beautiful but needed some hair work
When I received this doll her hair was, quite frankly, gross. Whatever spray/glue they styled the hair with was very stiff and looked like white crumbs was coming off of it. After washing her hair and leaving it to dry, the remaining glue was able to hold her style well without being gross. Overall, as someone who loved this character as a child, she makes a great decoration after this bit of TLC.

Disney Store Esmeralda Review
The detail in the outfit and box is AMAZING. The face mold is decent but could look a little more like Esmeralda, but it isn't bad. The hair is way too gelled for no reason. Doll's hair needs to be softer, easier to brush through, and more voluminous. I don't like that the dolls legs and feet are really rubbery and need to be less rubbery, more sturdy, and easy to position or kick out.

Not new
The products should have been new. When I purchased it it said new. The box had a sticker that said new yet the box was open and the doll looked used. The hair was extremely hard with hairspray and looked undone. Disappointed because I paid a price for a new items and did not receive it new.

Could be better, Disney always skimps on Esmeralda
Esmeralda's hair came glued, I guess to fix the curls in place, but it looks and feels bad. Had to wash off the glue and it immediately made this doll better. More akin to the movie.Now there are bigger issues at hand here. Her clothing feels cheap (think Shein cheap, where it's even shiny) and they omitted many details. Disney knocked it out of the park with their Pocahontas and Ariel dolls, but this Esmeralda doesn't have the same quality. And her hip shirt is tied down with a plastic tie. it fell off, so I had to do a manual knot to fix it in place.With few Esmeralda options out there, I'm disappointed to see Disney skimped on this one. She's one of my favs and I wish she got a bit more love.
