Good upgrade
As another use mentioned got this for an upgrade on previous kids tablet and really impressed. Much faster and smoother than previous model, used trade in discount and money off old tablet to purchase this one so with included Amazon kids for a year really worth the money. The parental controls are perfect asked me every step on what I wanted to install for daughter, even better as account and WiFi were already set up with ordering from Amazon . Daughter obsessed with lions so the lion pink case really will go down well .

Very good upgrade
This replaced a 2020 Fire Kids 8 and is a good upgrade. Especially with the trade in discount and overall price (including a years subscription to Amazon kids that my other children already use too). The previous review is wrong, you can limit content and every single app requires my approval, so the previous person needs to check their setting. My son loves the avengers case, the speed is so much better than the previous version and overall it’s a good tablet especially for the money. Not a big Amazon user generally but the purchase and delivery were very good!

Overall Good & Gets Job done
I bought in deal £79.99 which makes it Best value for money Tablet as comparatively other Tablets. I know there are more Tablets available in this price but I can’t take risk because we don’t know after sales service. No security updates & quality of tablet. Here’s some pros & cons which i found.Cons:1) Some times hang & lag. But consider the price it’s ok.2) I feel complicated if i need to setup something and want to remove Unwanted apps from the screen.3) Don’t have Google store for the apps.4) Alex calling app which allow to outgoing calls for approved contacts but approved contacts can’t receive the calls. Example I setup my contact number as approved contact so that my Daughter can call me anytime. But if i want to call my Daughter on her tablet she doesn’t receive the calls. Which can be fix by software update. This is big con for mePros.1) Trust of Amazon2) Regular security updates3) Display & Speaker Quality is good according to price.4) 1 year Amazon kids subscription is free.5) Parental control.6) Comes with good quality case.7) 2 Year worried free Guaranty.8) In £79.99 it’s best value for money tablet for kids which gets job done.

Awful parent control. Access to addictive games without parent control
The parental controls on the Amazon Fire 8 HD Kids are woefully inadequate, especially for younger children. Despite the device being marketed as child-friendly, there is no option within the parental settings to restrict access to the thousands of free apps and games that automatically appear on the child’s profile. As a result, children can freely download any number of these apps without any restriction, many of which seem highly addictive and potentially inappropriate for their age group. You can turn off the store but this is a totally separate part of the profile and still doesn't prevent children access 1000s of games without oversight from their parents. For parents who want to actively manage their child’s digital consumption, this lack of control is unacceptable.UPDATE. I raised 5 key concerns with Amazon. Below is their response.1. There is no single toggle to remove access to apps and games:Yes, this is correct. There is no one-click option to entirely disable access to the apps and games section. Managing content generally requires more granular controls through the Parent Dashboard.2. Parents must manually hide each individually game separately from the child's profile (over 900+)Yes, this is correct. There isn't currently a faster method to hide large batches of apps or games from the child’s profile in bulk.3. Parents do not receive email/text notifications if a child wants to download an app from the apps and games section:Yes, this is correct. Notifications and permission requests are typically available for purchases from the Amazon Store, but for apps and games within Kids+, there isn’t an option for real-time notification requests.4. The age filter only goes down to 2+ and cannot block a game marked as 0+. This means we are relying on the developer to appropriately age rate the game.Yes, this is accurate. The lowest age filter in Amazon Kids+ is for ages 2+, so there could be games marked for 0+ that might not be blocked by the age filter.5. Certain 0+ games cannot be manually hidden:Yes, this is correct. Some games and content marked as 0+ might be managed exclusively by the age filter, and these may not be removable through manual control, limiting parental customization for this content.

Best kids tablet
Love the ease of use, the parental controls have been so useful with the time limits so no arguments when it’s finished. Lots of learning apps and nothing that isn’t kid friendly.

Bought for daughter birthday
She's 8 she's found it easy to use and enjoying lots of games and educational things however gets a little distracted with the huge amount of video content guys she's good at responding to my suggestion so she uses it appropriately
