Great set of step bits
When buying drill bits, material, design, and use should taken into account. These cobalt step bits are everything I could ask for in a drill bit especially when drilling through hard metals. But just like with any other bits, including the carbide ones, misuse will almost certainly break them. So don't blame the bits when it’s really operator error. Highly recommend these to anybody looking for a high quality set of drill bits to get the job done…. 10/10

Well worth the price.
Worth the price. I was sick and tired of bits that dulled fast and cut slow. These slice through mild steel like they are cutting wood. I’ve used some of the bits dozens of times and they are still fine. Much less aggravation than regular bits. I own a set and bought another for my son, they are that good.

Tip broke first-time used.
Nice bits but my 5/16 tip broke first-time ever used. How do I get a replacement?

wasting money on these drill bits
I had high expectations for these drill bits, but I was disappointed. I only had to make three holes and I couldn't find half a hole. It's just a useless expense. Don't waste your money buying these drill bits.

Be patient.
These bit are by far the best I've used FOR HARDENED STEEL. I've purchased multiple $200 drill sets. The picture supplied was of my auger head for splitting logs into quarter logs. When the head got stuck it sheared 6 grade 8 hardened steel bolt flush to the head. Anyone drilling this metal knows the hours of frustration involved. Drill America bits buried themselves in effortlessly.....And that is the key. These are crazy hardened bits. " which means for all u haters " If u apply too much pressure...if your drill slips...if your drill speed is too fast...if you bite of more than the bit can handle, U ARE GONNA SNAP THE BIT. I would not suggest these bit for hand drilling thick soft metal. they are just too aggressive. if u have a drill press u might be fine. have the right tool for the job and don't leave bad reviews for operator error. These bits are the 💩

These are awesome!
Watched my mechanic use these. I was so IMPRESSED I bought a set. This is straight up the real deal. I watched him center punch some 1/4 steel plate. Used the 1/4 bit and drilled through it in under 3 seconds. 4 holes, 3 seconds each hole. Then put in the 3/8 bit. Went through each hole enlarging in under 2 seconds!!! Then enlarged with 1/2 bit. Went through in under 3 seconds! Are you kidding me...1/4 plate steel. This is for real. He was using a snap-on 1/2 air drill, and I admit that is one wicked, nasty, high torque drill...he said a normal drill would stall...but these bits are nasty. I'll send a video soon.

Drilled well through SS
First test I had for these was drilling through a 1/4" Stainless steel plate. The smaller sizes worked well drilling the hole quickly (1/8"). When working up to the medium bits, one of them broke immediately. It must have had some sort of defect in the bit. The other medium sized bits worked great for the most part. SS is a struggle even with the best bits. As long as you go slow, have plenty of lubrication/cooling, and don't have a defective bit... these bits will work great.

Great Set
This does not suck the bit into the material as other bits do. Also, if you drill into a metal plate, this has minimal burs on the other side.
