I had never had the MRE bars before, so I was quite surprised when I bit into it and got an overwhelming peanut flavor in the red velvet bar. If not for the peanuts (which don’t belong here) it would be a 5 star flavor. Texture is good, it is soft and chewy. The sweet frosting flavor is a nice touch as well.Ingredient wise, these bars are the most unique I’ve ever seen. Lots of protein and carb sources you never see in bars. I guess that’s a plus, but it comes at a premium price.I have now had red velvet, donut, and carrot cake MRE bars. I would not order this flavor again if there are other available. the s’mores bars feel ‘softer’ in comparison to all the others on the line. Additionally, the bars can easily melt and break depending on temperature and handling (read that again). The reality is much different. More a flat mix of ingredients that doesn't really seem like food. Just google MRE bar and you'll see what I mean.Not a huge fan of almonds and the bars have almonds throughout it.It's got those crisps protein bits on top which are okay but overall they're not very good, I think I had 2 and gave the rest away.
