Q: Some of the marketing (and even customer) photos show the spatula area being solid, and others show it being perforated with holes - which is it?

Mine are indeed solid.. I hope this helps.. They are not replacing every pair of tongs.. but I find them wonderful for many uses

Q: Will the silicone cradle stand up to high oil temperature in a fryer, say 375-400 for frying chicken?

I have not used in that way, but would expect silicone to be heat worthy.

Q: Does it say as seen on tv on the box?

They do not work well. Certainly not like in the video, LOL
