Purple Dragon 7.0/8.0 inch Pet Grooming Hair Cutting Scissors and Dog Chunker Shears - Japan 440C Stainless Steel for Professional Pet Groomer or Family DIY Use

As a professional groomer and owner of a grooming salon for 35 years, I should have known better. I purchased these shears as a backup for when mine were sent for sharpening. I wasn't expecting them to be comparable with my expensive shears, and would only be using them for a short time. I did however expect them to cut. My first clue hat hey we're junk, was the sticker with instructions on how to get them to close properly. These shears were so dull, all they did was get caught in the coat, and fold it. Sent them back the next day! Do not waste your money! I must add that I have several purple dragon shears that are perfectly fine as a backup, and are surprisingly sharp.

The bling is unnecessary, the shears feel solid and balanced in my hand and have a good weith to them. Initial reaction is very favorable. (25+ years as all breed pet and show groomer).

I have purchased these shears four times and will continue purchasing replacements, but they cannot be re sharpened many times by professional sharpeners because the metal is reportedly low quality. With daily use, they last about two months as nice finishing shears and then continue to work well as pre-bath rough in shears for two to three more months. For less than 30 bucks, this is a fantastic buy! And if you are a pet owner who only uses your shears maybe once a week or once a month these are an excellent choice. --if you are a professional grooming student, I recommend a higher-end shear like maybe giebs only because you might not have the expertise yet to know when your shears are getting dull or malfunctioning. These purple dragon shears very greatly in quality from one order to another and they only seem to survive one or two sharpenings at the most.

They didn’t cut upon arrival. Teeth just got stuck on the blade. Gave it another shot instead of returning it and sent it out with my sharpener to see if he could get it sharp and working right. Still no luck. Just another pair of junk shears sitting in my drawer. Guess I got what I paid for :( disappointed cuz my other purple dragon shears are great. Maybe these aren’t purple dragon? Not engraved on the shear only on the screw.

Worked great the first two times I used this on my Labradoodle. Nice for trimming the head and face and not having scissor marks. However, now the scissors bend the hair instead of cutting it, or catch and will not close at all. Adjusting the spring did not help. They were never dropped and were stored in the provided case. Very disappointing and my return window was missed by just a few days.

Straight out of the box they wouldn’t close properly. Fortunately, they come with a QR code which directs you to a video should your thinners not close properly. That really should have been my first clue. If they have to put that on the packaging, maybe it’s a sign? Anywho, I watched the video. Unfortunately, I don’t speak the language explaining what to do to repair them and the man holding the shears (I assume it’s a man, all you can see is his hand and the lower half of the blades) just opens and closes them and pinches the end. Some kind sole purpose a translation for what he’s saying in the comments, but even after attempting several times to fix them, they’re still crap.

Had these sitting in a box for a while before finally pulling them out to use them. As soon as I opened them and tried to reclose a few of the teeth on the blade got stuck on the other side. I tried to adjust them some so it wouldn't get caught with each open/close to no avail. The more I tried to fix the rogue teeth the worse it got. Not even usable. Complete waste of money. So bummed because I really wanted to like them.

I started cutting my dog's hair to save money because his hair grows back so quickly. After watching enough video tutorials, I decided to invest in this type of scissors for his legs. I was very happy that they came in purple - my favorite color. They work so far!

I bought these for pet grooming. The first pair came with a knick and would not close. I spent $$ re sharpening and had to finally get a replacement. The second pair is doing the same thing. Seems to be a problem with the teeth snagging on the opposite blade and causing a knick to form. Also seems to be a problem with alignment of the two blades.

Horrible, están hermosas las tijeras si las mandaran nuevas. Devolví el producto dos veces pensando que alguna vez podría tener un defecto la tijera y me tocara la mala suerte pero resultó peor y me dieron unas usadas y dañadas!!!! Y ahora en estuché diferente, envoltura rota, manoseadas, rayadas. Feo feo feo. Dos veces las pedí y nunca volveré a comprar.

Ordered chunkers and so far they are amazing!
