I bought this pump for my young daughter who is a first time mom and when I tell you this pump is a good example of cheap isn't always the best🤣😂 this pump leaked most of my daughter's milk as she pumped it was making noises as if it was breaking down because milk was going in all the wrong places of she tired to pump 10oz she would end up with 5oz because the pump was leaking all over the place I would not recommend this pump please spend your money elsewhere cause this is not a good product at all wish i could have gave this a -10 star

Love this pump!
EDIT: 22 October 2016It seems I was not using all the parts of the pump. With the added valves attached, I no longer have an issue with the milk going into the tubing. I am embarrassed that it took me so long to figure this out. In light of this find, I am raising my review to five stars. The pump is quieter than a whisper and works perfectly. I couldn't be more pleased with this pump.~*~*~*~*~*~I had a choice between this pump and a Medela. I chose this one because it had no reviews and the Medela did not need another one as that particular pump had hundreds. Whereas Viverity could be a brand new company.I am very happy that I went with this pump.Pros:Quiet - It does not make a lot of noise.Gentle - There are seven speeds and four levels of force or 'expression'. This is the amount of pressure applied to the breast to pull the milk out. I have the speed set to one and expression to one. I have tried other expression levels without pain but I prefer to keep it on one. I have not experimented with the speed setting.Suction - It does a very good job at doing what it was designed to do.Assembly - There are not many pieces. The pump part itself, that is, the part applied to the breast, consists of three pieces, attached to a collection bottle and connected to the pump itself by a tube. That's it. Simple.Cleanup - Because there are not a lot of pieces, everything is really simple to clean and takes only a matter of moments to do so.Price - I'd say that the pump is very reasonably priced.Appearance - It is a cosmetic thing, but appearance is important. And I think this pump is adorable! I love the lavender and white color combination. The pump and bottles are clear so I can see what is being collected. And even better: the company brand is not attached to everything. Very classy.Cons:Backup - The milk goes into a silicon dripage collection area. If the milk is collected faster than it can drain out into the collection bottle, the milk backs up into the tube which is situated right above the dripage collection area. If not caught in time, the milk will get sucked right down the tube and continues on its way to the pump motor. The instruction booklet does not state what will happen if the milk gets inside but I imagine that the result would not be good.To avoid this, I have to pay careful attention to how much milk is being collected and either turn the pump motor off or pull the pump away to break the vacuum seal to allow the milk to drain into the bottle faster. I also keep the expression at level one because the others pull more milk out with each suck which means that the milk backs up faster. I have not figured out a way to prevent this.Rating:While I really love this pump, I have to take off a star for the con. The milk backing up makes pumping take longer because I have to frequently turn the pump off, break the suction, or clear the tubing. And getting the milk inside is disturbing as all I can do is shake the contraption to get the milk out and hope that there is no permanent damage. I really wish the instruction manual had gone over what to do when milk gets inside. Unless I simply missed the section.

Not as bad as expected, but not very good either
First, I'm not sure what I'm reviewing is what others might receive, I think the listing gets reused, there are reviews that are 6 years old and I don't know that they are for the same thing.I bought the pump out of curiosity for how the price could be so very low, so I wasn't expecting to get a pump I'd really use everyday, I already have a good pump. There are a lot of parts to the collection flanges which will make cleaning more work than others I've used, but other than that they seemed to work ok. The pump doesn't have as much suction as my other pumps, on its highest setting it was similar to mid range on other pumps. That might not be a problem for some, personally I run my other pump at mid range, so this pump on high might be ok for me, but the fact that other pumps do go much higher suggest that some women need more than this will do. The pump is a bit noisy, but it is more a low rumble than the whine of some cheap pumps so it is not too terrible. Over all this is amazing relative to the price, but it is not really all that good, it is just that the price (when I bought it) was so very very low. Considering how important proper pumping is for supply I wouldn't recommend this for actual use.

Buy a Medela
My insurance covered a Medela PISA with my first child and it worked and still works great! I have had no issues with parts, suction, positioning, assembly, etc. Everything was intuitive and easy-peasy. I decided to get another pump with my second child because the Medela is out-of-warranty and my insurance covered it. As it turns out this time around, my insurance will only cover this pump: Viverity TruComfort. I keep the Medela at work and use it daily (it is 2.5 years old) with no problems, and use TruComfort on the 4-5 days a month I work from home. You don't realize how great the Medela pump is until you use this. Not only are there more parts to assemble, but also if the parts are not bone dry and set just so, it loses suction. For mommies who use pumps daily multiple times a day, there is just no way you can get all the pieces to air-dry completely between pumps or even overnight. Also, with the Medela, I can move around while pumping (wearing a pumping bra) but with this, I feel I have to sit still or else I lose suction. I typically like to do emails while pumping at work so that's an hour wasted everyday just sitting there stoic and unproductive. Imagine if you had to pump and nurse at the same time!!With the Medela I am able to express 12 oz a day. With this I express 8 oz and have to dig into my frozen stash for the next day supply. There are better options out there, pay the money and buy a Medela.2-stars because it expresses milk.
