I rescued a 60+ lb Sheppard/Collie/Husky mix several months ago. Overall a great dog, but she could not control herself outside. She pulled so hard at the leash that it just wasn't fun walking her and if she got off-leash, she would RUN! I tried a bunch of different leashes and collars, but only got more frustrated until I bought this training collar. After watching a bunch of YouTube videos on using this type of training collar, I started working with my dog. After just two days of consistent training, my dog learned the new "language" of the collar and started responding to my commands immediately. This is all WITHOUT using the shock function. After teaching her that the tone function meant that she needs to stop whatever she is doing and pay attention to me, I used the vibrate function to prompt her to come to me (while saying "COME"). Now after a couple of weeks of owning the collar, I hardly ever have to use either tone or vibrate and she pays attention to me when I call her and she responds to my commands. I still put the collar on her and have used the tone or vibrate on occasion to reemphasize her training if she is totally distracted (chasing butterflies!). With consistent training, this collar WORKS and I didn't need to use a shock function to completely modify my dog's bad behavior. For my dog, the tone gets her attention and she does not like the collar vibrating at all! I can walk her around outside without a leash and she stays with me. This allows her more freedom, which is great for her, and there is no more leash pulling, which is great for me. There has only been one time that my dog did not listen to the tone and ignored the vibrate, and that was because my dog heard, then saw, several kids playing with another dog down the road. I immediately went to shock, but the level was at 1 and had no effect. I was rapidly able to increase the shock on the collar until I reached level 10, which stopped my dog in her tracks and made her immediately turn around and run back to me. I hated having to use the shock function, and based on that one experience I don't believe that my dog will require it again, but I do appreciate having that function if it is ever needed. I find the remote very easy to use without looking at it due to the shape and size of the buttons. I am very happy with this collar and would highly recommend it. BUT, watch some videos and spend time training the dog with it....the dog needs to learn what this new stimulation means.

I would like it better if the positive reviews were not paid for by Pala Sport. The product should be rated by its merits. This is the fourth of similar training collars I bought over the last 20 years - the third I purchased from Amazon. This is the best so far. My dog is only mildly stubborn/training resistant dog. Have had it about four weeks. Use it only every 5-7 days when the 2 year old collie is in an unfamiliar environments. He tends to get "too exuberant" jumping on strangers/kids or grabbing and running off or just nuisance barking. The first time use - set the sound, vibration and shock at 3. So far just the sound at 3 is enough for him to correct himself. I like at 6-10 feet I also can hear the sound. Overall had good results. I marked it down 2 stars because I don't like the Seller soliciting reviews. Also marked it down because I had to return the product initially - not only was missing the long prongs but also the double sided charger only worked on one side and the hand held didn't charge. The second time everything was packaged correctly and it has worked as expected.

I received this training collar a couple days ago. I ordered it kind of out of desperation to train my two barkers/pullers/jumpers/rough play dogs. Because it came with one collar, I’ve switched it from dog to dog when in a position to possibly need it.We have mostly used the beep signal and the dogs have both caught on that if they don’t correct their behavior with verbal and visual cues from me, that they get the beep, which catches their attention. And if they don’t respond to the been with commands during disobedience, they get the vibration. Usually they make eye contact with me after that, or correct their behavior.I highly suggest this for training purposes only, when your dog doesn’t respond to other ways of training.Definitely don’t abuse the shock button, and honestly, only use vibration when needed, so it stays an effective training tool.Our young dog has caught on fast! Our 7yr old dog has continued to be pretty hard headed but she’s getting better with her habits.

I have a 6 Month old pit mix, and he is a handful. The moment I let him outside he would run and start digging holes and rip branches off trees in one powerful swipe. This collar was the smartest purchase I have made. It’s very easy to use and fairly priced based off other “shock collars”. I have only shocked my dog once and only use the vibrate and tone buttons, which stops him in his tracks. The only complaint I have is that you have to pair it after every time you charge it. But that only takes about 30 seconds. The battery has lasted me about 5 days. 2-3 days in the beginning due to a lot of use. Overall, this product has probably saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars in landscaping and irrigation (sprinkler system). Completely transformed my dog as well. Don’t hesitate if you are looking for a collar.

This unit is an upgrade and replacement for PET SAFE 100-yd unit selling at $95 on a different online specialty store. The upgrades are a 3-button remote that can be seen AND used as necessary, a vigorous vibration mode on the receiver and a heartier synthetic collar that can be wiped clean. This is a "plug and play" unit that is a few steps above our previous training collar with quick charging and no "notches" to align to charge. The aligning notches on the PET SAFE unit were a bit to get used to and a weak point as you need to take the time to avoid bending the plug in the receiver. Our dog is 140-lbs and responds to the vibration more readily than our older unit. This means the static shock is used less and training for proper behavior is more humane. Further evaluation will update this review, but safe to say being a PRIME MEMBER and next day shipping didn't break our dog-walking routine if we had to wait another day to receive this training collar.
