Ortho Contech Waspinator Wasp Deterrent

When I moved into my Florida home I inherited wasps and their paper building nests. It did not matter how may times I knocked them down, they came back and built nests under the eaves of my home in three areas. Always the same spots. After spending a fortune in wasp spray I remembered my neighbor having a Waspinator in his back yard when I lived in Atlanta. I ordered a pair of these immediately and hung them up...one in my front porch entrance and the other in the side where the "big" nests used to get built. I kid you not, I have had NOT wasp nests since I hung the Waspinators. I am literally wasp nest free. It has been over a year now and even though I walk my property weekly, the Waspinators have kept those little buggers from nest building. They really are highly territorial and do not like them. I recommend this product to my neighbors all of the time and it works.

Who'd ever think this would fool hornets and wasps into thinking that this is a real nest and that they need to stay away (they're territorial)? I didn't but bought one 6 or7 years ago and our patio is now clear of those menaces (around people and pets) except for the occasional one that lurks around to eat the wood off my teak furniture. I can put up with that since we used to have many out there. This is a terrific invention. It arrives folded flat. You push your hand around inside of it and it balloons out to pretty closely mimic a real hornet nest. I put an S hook in the cord and hang it from our patio maple tree. Only the most wild winds can dislodge it and then I start over and hang it up again. Each has lasted for me about 3 years before it becomes a bit frayed and I buy another one. Rain does not bother it. The color is a mottled gray and has a pull cord to tighten it into a football shape with a flat bottom and then the string becomes your hanger. Would be nice if it came with an S hook but they're easily purchased from a hardware store. The larger the S hook, the thicker a branch can be to hang it on. Not wild about the price (usually around $9-$11 each but they do the trick and for that I am thankful as my dogs like to snap at hornets/wasps and that could be a big health problem and possibly fatal for adults or children who are allergic to those stings.

I bought two of these and have had them up for several years. They still work. No wasps on my front porch since I installed them and I used to have to fight wasps all summer long! Cannot recommend them strongly enough!

Firstly, I paid $50 for this item and have no idea why since some other sellers have this for $20. Secondly, it didn't work and wasps were even landing on top of this fake nest. I mailed it back a couple of weeks ago and haven't heard anything about my refund yet.

They work! They even seem to keep the carpenter bees away too. I stuffed mine with plastic grocery bags and hung one on each porch

I couldn't believe it, it works well, I have two of them on my patio, no hornets.
