Spears 1406 Series PVC Tube Fitting, 90 Degree Elbow, Schedule 40, Gray, 2" Barbed

I purchased this hard-to-find item to refurbish the hose assembly on my garden pond pump. The 90 degree design prevents hose-kinking, that soon causes wear and need for hose repair. It also allows me to add extra hose length for easy pump removal for easy cleaning and winter storage. The connector material is heavy duty and the size is accurate to fit inside a 1-1/2 inch hose, without difficulty. Just remember to clamp both ends tightly with good quality stainless steel clamps. That will ensure a secure and leak-free connection.

It would be nice if the bend had a more gentle radius instead of the sharp 90 degree turn, which makes more resistance to fluid movement past the bend, but there is good surface area for the hose to grab on, and the connections are finished round, so NO filing or sanding was needed to remove any mold marks on the barbs.

This fitting as well as several others were used to install a large black water holding tank in a boat. The fittings worked well and the hose to pipe fit was very tight.
